Postal voting station Treptow-Köpenick opens in the Peter Behrens Building

Berlin, 4 January 2023 – DIE Deutsche Immobilien Entwicklungs AG (DIEAG) is making premises in the Peter Behrens Building in Oberschöneweide available to the Treptow-Köpenick District Electoral Office for temporary use as an absentee voting office. This is due to the re-run of the elections for the Berlin House of Representatives and the District Councils.

On 2 January 2023, absentee ballot papers will be sent out for the re-run elections to the Berlin House of Representatives and the Treptow-Köpenick District Council. To avoid long postal journeys, voters in the Treptow-Köpenick district can now go to the postal voting centre in person to apply for their ballot papers and vote directly on site.

The Peter Behrens Building is located at Ostendstraße 1 in 12459 Berlin-Oberschöneweide. The postal voting centre is accessible via the central atrium of the building. Barrier-free access is possible via the courtyard. There is a car park directly in front of the building. The tram stop Rathenaustraße/HTW (Berlin) (lines 27, 60, 61, 76; bus N65) is about 200 metres away on foot.


Opening hours of the voting station:
Monday – 08:00 to 15:00
Tuesday and Thursday – 11:00 to 19:00
Wednesday and Friday – 08:00 to 14:00

About the Peter Behrens Building

The listed Peter-Behrens Building is part of the BE-U | Behrens-Ufer development quarter. Here, DIE Deutsche Immobilien Entwicklungs AG is investing a total of around €1.1 billion in the development of an energy self-sufficient business quarter with a focus on sustainability, user-friendliness and quality of life. With its planned mix of uses, Behrens-Ufer ties in with the dynamic development of the future Schöneweide location and will become a district for business, science, art and culture, as well as for social and educational facilities, leisure, and recreation.
