Berlin, 22 March 2023 – The first new tenant at the future Schöneweide location is an internationally active high-tech production company in the electrical industry, which is building a new production site on more than 10,000 sqm.
The tenant, who prefers not to be named at this time, will occupy production, laboratory and office space in the listed Peter Behrens Building. The building is located in the North Karree of the BE-U | Behrens-Ufer business quarter currently being developed by the DIEAG Group between Ostendstraße and the river Spree in Berlin-Oberschöneweide.
Felix Gold, Managing Director of DIEAG Investmentmanagement GmbH: “We are delighted with this first successful settlement. In addition to the availability of large contiguous areas at this early stage of the district’s development, the decisive factor was the possibility of being able to respond to the highly complex technical requirements of this highly specialized interested party in the individual tenant fit-out. The location also offers the advantage of a secure, sustainable energy supply as well as the immediate proximity to HTW Berlin with its pronounced technological training and research focus and the associated possibility of effective personnel recruitment.”
A total of 235,000 square meters of rental space for businesses will be created in historic and new buildings, divided into three construction phases, on the approximately ten-hectare former industrial site of BE-U | Behrens-Ufer. Completion is planned for 2027.
Savills acted as agent in the letting process.
